Warranty Terms

1. Warranty Coverage

Lotus Automotive, Inc. d/b/a Lotus FleetTech ("Seller") warrants to the original purchaser that all products sold under the Lotus FleetTech brand are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions for the following periods:

• Remanufactured Starters (39-MT, 42-MT, 50-MT series) - 12 months from date of installation or 18 months from date of shipment, whichever occurs first
• Remanufactured Alternators (22-SI, 24-SI, 36-SI series) - 12 months from date of installation or 18 months from date of shipment, whichever occurs first
• Clutch Assemblies (14", 15.5" Standard, 15.5" Premium) - 12 months from date of installation or 18 months from date of shipment, whichever occurs first
• Individual components and hardware - 90 days from date of shipment

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. It does not extend to subsequent owners or users of the product.

2. What Is Covered

• Internal component failure under normal operating conditions
• Manufacturing defects discovered upon installation or during the warranty period
• Premature failure not attributable to misuse, improper installation, or external causes
• Electrical failures in alternators caused by internal short circuits or winding defects
• Mechanical failure of starter motor drives, solenoids, or commutators under normal load
• Pressure plate and disc defects in clutch assemblies under correct spec application

3. What Is NOT Covered

• Damage caused by improper installation, including failure to follow OEM torque specs, incorrect wiring, or use without proper mounting hardware
• Damage caused by operation outside the rated electrical or mechanical specifications of the unit
• Normal wear and tear, including brush wear, belt wear, and friction material wear on clutch discs
• Damage caused by contamination (oil, coolant, water, or dirt ingestion)
• Damage caused by voltage spikes, improper grounding, or charging system faults not attributable to the part itself
• Damage caused by vehicle accident, fire, flood, or other external events
• Parts on which serial numbers, date codes, or identification markings have been removed, altered, or defaced
• Parts that have been disassembled, modified, or repaired by anyone other than Lotus FleetTech
• Consequential or incidental damages including towing, labor, lost revenue, or rental costs
• Parts used in racing, off-road competition, or applications outside the part's OEM specification

4. How to Make a Warranty Claim

Step 1 - Register Your Part

Register your part at lotusautomotiveinc.com/warranty within 30 days of installation. Registration is not required to make a claim but significantly speeds up processing.

Step 2 - Contact Us

Email info@lotusautomotiveinc.com or call (630) 202-4660 with the following information:

• Part number and serial number (located on the unit label)
• Date of purchase and date of installation
• Vehicle make, model, year, and VIN
• Description of the failure and symptoms observed
• Proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation)

Step 3 - Return Authorization

A Warranty Return Authorization (WRA) number will be issued within 2 business days. Parts must not be returned without a WRA number. Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned at shipper's expense.

Step 4 - Ship the Part

Ship the defective part prepaid to our Wood Dale, IL facility. Include the WRA number clearly marked on the outside of the package. We recommend insuring the shipment for its full value.

Step 5 - Resolution

Upon receipt and inspection (typically within 5-7 business days), Seller will at its sole option: replace the part with an equivalent unit, repair the defective part, or issue a credit for the original purchase price. Seller will cover return shipping for confirmed warranty replacements.

5. Warranty Remedies

The remedies described above are Buyer's sole and exclusive remedies for warranty claims. SELLER'S MAXIMUM LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE DEFECTIVE PART. IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER BE LIABLE FOR LABOR, DOWNTIME, TOWING, RENTAL, OR ANY OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES.

6. Disclaimer

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SELLER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PRODUCT WILL MEET BUYER'S SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OR THAT OPERATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
